INTERVIEW WITH KERRY MAHONEY

ALEX:  When did you decide to become a writer? What was the first story you ever wrote, and what happened to it?

KERRY:  To be honest, I never really decided to be a writer, it was just something I did for fun. I was always afraid of someone being critical, I wouldn't even let my partner read my stories. He, however, was the one who talked me into uploading a story, and I am glad he did. The first story I wrote was a romantic tale about childhood sweethearts, who fell in love, and of course had their happy ending. Unfortunately, this was back when I used floppy disks to store things on, and it has been lost over the years.

ALEX: Why did you start writing erotic fiction? What draws you to this genre?

KERRY:  I started writing erotic fiction because I enjoyed reading it, and I wondered if I could turn my hand to it. I realized I could come up with a story surrounding the sex life of people, and it seemed to work. I guess like everybody else, I enjoy an exciting story, so erotic fiction was perfect for me.

ALEX: Do you think anyone can write erotic fiction?

KERRY: I believe anyone can give it a go, why not. If you find the genre you enjoy writing, whether that be erotic or any other, stick to that. Writing what you enjoy to write always brings out the best stories.

ALEX: Why do you think people read erotica?

KERRY: I can't say why other people read erotica. Personally, honestly, I enjoy reading it, it's that simple

ALEX: Tell me about your writing process. How do you come up with the characters?

KERRY: I can just be sitting watching television, or out and about, and a story will pop into my head. I might see a certain person, or event and it will trigger a possible story surrounding what I see. I usually start at the end of a story, and work backwards. So, when I start writing the story, I know exactly where I am headed.

ALEX: What is the most erotic scene you’ve ever written?

KERRY: I think the most erotic scene I have ever written was in “Sensual games part 2”, “Fantasy Inc part 1”. I love the idea of a company who are willing and happy to help you live out your fantasies.

ALEX: It is an interesting idea to collaborate with Models and Photographers for unique covers.  Tell us what do you think about the covers design?

KERRY: I think the cover designs are as important as the stories. They give you an insight into what you are about to read. I can see a book cover , and want to read that book, as it appeals to my tastes.

ALEX: Do you think that the cover plays an important part in the buying process?

KERRY: As the saying goes, you can't judge a book by it's cover, but as I said, a cover can also make all the difference to a story I may read. So, personally I think a cover is very important to books buying process.

ALEX: The reader would love to learn more about you.  Where do your ideas come from?

KERRY: My ideas are drawn from my everyday life. A person I may see, a situation I might witness, or a simple advert on the television. My idea's just pop into my mind.

ALEX: Do you write every day, 5 days a week or as and when?

KERRY: It varies for me. Sometimes when I have a full story in my head, I write it in just a few day's. I do, however, have quite a few unfinished stories, when I will get an idea, but feel like I am losing where it was heading, so I leave it for a while. I guess I write as and when.

ALEX: Do you read much?

KERRY: I do enjoy reading, I have quite a few books on my phone that I read in bed at night.

ALEX: How do you relax?

KERRY: I relax by spending time with my family and friends. I also love football. Liverpool FC are my team, and I never miss a match. I also love swimming. My friends and I hire a private pool, and spend a few hours behaving like children. I love to laugh, and my friends know how to make me laugh for sure. Myself and my partner often go to stay in our friends, go for a nice meal, and just enjoy ourselves. We have a Chihuahua puppy, who is 8 months old, his name is Gizmo, and we love to spend time with him.

ALEX: What is your favorite book and why?

KERRY: Well, apart from the Sensual Games series, I love Cecelia Ahern. My favorite book is “P.S. I love you”. I love the idea of love lasting forever, even if you lose someone, your love for them will never die.

ALEX: What is your favorite quote?

KERRY: "Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Stuff" 10th Doctor, David Tennant, Doctor Who. Bit of a whovian geek. And if you don't like that you must be a Slitheen

ALEX: What is your favorite movie and why?

KERRY: My favorite movie is, It's a “Wonderful Life”. 1946. With James Stewart and Donna Reed. I love the simplicity of that story. A man get's to see how life would have been for his loved ones, had he not been born. It shows how one person can touch so many. The ending always makes me cry.

ALEX: Which famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?

KERRY: It would be Josh Groban. I absolutely love his music and voice. I was lucky to go and see him in Manchester last year. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. I love him.

ALEX: Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included?

KERRY: Just that I hope you enjoy reading my stories, as much as I enjoy writing them. XX
